Initially founded as a start-up, Erova is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Macquarie Group.
Macquarie is a global financial services group providing clients with asset management, retail and business banking, wealth management, leasing and asset financing, market access, commodity trading, renewables development, specialist advice and access to capital and principal investment.
The story so far.
Erova started out as an assetless trading business, specialising in interconnector trading. From there, we moved into asset-backed trading when we signed our first PPA in 2018.
That deal set us on the path to a deep specialism in renewable energy trading, risk management, and route to market services. Since 2018, Erova’s portfolio has grown from just a handful of solar farms to over three gigawatts’ worth of renewable energy assets.
We expanded our service range to include electricity supply, enabling organisations to draw directly from the assets in our portfolio – contributing to net-zero goals and securing a competitive price.

For over 15 years, Matthew has provided energy and risk systems consulting to investment banks, utilities and merchant commodity trading houses across Europe. Within Erova, Matthew is responsible for the development of our internal systems and focus’ on the full automation of many of Erova’s trading and settlement processes.
