Erova Energy Signs PPA deal with CareyGlass and Curraghgraigue Wind Farm

Erova Energy has signed a corporate PPA deal CareyGlass for the supply of renewable power from Curraghgraigue Wind Farm

DUBLIN– 6th February 2025

CareyGlass in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, have signed a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Erova Energy, securing the supply of renewable electricity to power their operations. The agreement aligns with both companies’ sustainability commitments, ensuring the supply of locally produced green energy while contributing to Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

 

Under the terms of the deal, Erova Energy will provide CareyGlass with renewable electricity sourced from Curraghgraigue Wind Farm situated outside Nenagh.

 

Managing Director of Curraghgraigue Wind Farm, Baden Powell, said: “By supplying clean, renewable wind energy to large energy user CareyGlass, we are not only contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions but also aiding businesses in the pursuit of more efficient and responsible energy use. This is a 30-year commitment to generating green electricity. It is immensely rewarding to see it being utilised so close to its source, demonstrating the tangible benefits of our dedication and innovation.

Corporate PPAs play a crucial role in accelerating investment in renewable energy infrastructure by providing revenue certainty to developers. This agreement showcases how large energy consumers can proactively reduce their carbon footprint while managing energy costs effectively.

 

CareyGlass were supported during this PPA process by Exemplar Energy from Cork. CareyGlass’s long-term commitment to renewable energy reflects a growing trend among Irish businesses looking to enhance sustainability and resilience in the face of evolving energy challenges.
